The National “13^th Five-Year Plan” Technical Innovation Achievements Exhibition recently took place at Beijing Exhibition Centre, during which President Xi Jinping visited the exhibition and delivered a speech. Members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee -- Li Keqiang, Li Zhanshu, Wang Yang, Wang Huning, Zhao Leji and Han Zheng, and Vice President Wang Qishan paid a visit to the exhibition respectively. Dongfang Electronics Corporation (DFE) introduced its latest achievement of technological innovation – “Research and Demonstration of Key Technologies of Power Distribution System with Multi-user Interaction in Industrial Parks" for the Guangzhou Mingzhu Industrial Park of the "13^th Five-Year Plan" National Key R&D Program of China" at the High-tech Exhibition Area of the exhibition.

The exhibition, themed on “Innovation Drives Development towards a Power of Science and Technology", is composed of 12 areas, including High and New Technologies, Major Projects and Social Development. The 1,300 exhibits and over 200 models are the outstanding technological achievements of China in implementing the major strategies of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as its core on scientific and technological innovation adhering to the “13^th Five-Year Plan”. Xi Jinping stressed at the exhibition that science and technology workers of China should strengthen self-confidence on innovation, seize opportunities for innovation, further enhance self-reliance on science and technology, and make greater contributions to building a power in science and technology with great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

DFE debuted its national key R&D project at the exhibition. With the theme of "Comprehensive and Efficient Energy Utilization", the project is led by Guangdong Power Grid Co., Ltd. with 10 participants. DFE is mainly engaged in the research and development of some key technologies, field exploration and implementation of the whole project.

The project demonstration area is located in Conghua Mingzhu Industrial Park, Guangzhou, covering an area of about 58 square kilometers. The energy application scenarios cover distributed rooftop photovoltaic, in-plant power distribution, central air conditioning, power generation with differential pressure, electric energy storage, orderly production and gas boiler. With complementary collaboration and control of cold energy/thermal energy/electricity/gas and optimal operation of source/network/load/storage, the energy utilization efficiency is improved, and the energy consumption cost lowers. The energy-saving benefits have been remarkably increasing since the project implementation: After 2016 when the project started running, more than 80% of the electricity in the park was developed and consumed independently, and the park saw a decrease of 14% in the total annual energy consumption, 28% in the total cost,6% in the energy consumption for unit output value, and 5% in the energy consumption for specific yield. The interactions between industrial and commercial users of virtual power plants helped reduce peak load by over 20%, thus greatly promoting peak-load shifting of power grids. With an annual reduction of CO₂ emission by 16,000 tons each year, the project helps users implement the “Dual Control System” of total energy consumption and energy intensity, which sets a typical model of smart park energy management featuring cleanness, low carbon, safety and high efficiency.

Thanks to the support of the key R&D project, DFE E2800 Integrated Energy Management System was rated at the “globe-leading” level by a panel of experts led by academicians upon the appraisal of scientific and technological achievements by China Electrotechnical Society. The widely-applied system has become an effective "tool of carbon reduction" for high energy-consuming enterprises.

DFE, oriented on high-tech energy, defined "Cherish Environment and Treasure Resources" as the vision in 2007. Over a dozen years, DFE has been fully exerting its advantages in energy utilization and high service efficiency depending on the lean management system in line with its development strategy of green industry. While strengthening and optimizing the industries related to comprehensive energy service, DFE has established a green and low-carbon industrial chain centering on ecological cities, zero-carbon smart parks, digital smart factories and clean energy supply services. DFE helps reduce emissions of carbon dioxide by 7.15 million tons for customers every year with its products and technical services, which contribute to earnings exceeding RMB 300 million per year (at the unit market price of around RMB44), recording great economic and social benefits.
